The Voice of Invisibles

CoverThe Voice of Invisibles is another inclusion project of Babilon Travel NGO, financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme.

The main activity is a training course held in Durres, Albania, between October 1-7, 2018.

The Voice of Invisibles aims to increase the awareness and develop skills of youth workers on fostering social inclusion and diversity, by involving young people with fewer opportunities in outdoor activities, creativity with recycling, mobility, and volunteering.

The project’s main objectives link to most of the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme and go in the same line with the Inclusion and Diversity strategy objectives such as increasing the commitment of youth workers and organizations toward inclusion and use Erasmus+ as a tool for inclusion:

  • Enhance the international dimension and enhance the capacity of youth workers and organizations: we bring 6 organizations, 25 youth workers from 5 countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Portugal and Romania);
  • Equity and inclusion; – Encourage youth workers and youth organizations to target groups with fewer opportunities in mobility activities and local projects and: all the activities involve youth workers themselves with and without disabilities and fewer opportunities;
  • Improve the level of key competencies, recognition, and skills of youth workers and young people: 25 youth workers involved to develop and explore specific tools for outdoor activities promoting and fostering inclusion;
  • Foster quality improvements in youth work, through enhanced cooperation between organizations: 6 organizations from program and partner countries contribute to making inclusion possible at their local and European level.

Activities

The project has 4 main stages: preparation, implementation, follow up and, monitoring evaluation and reporting.

Preparatory stage: The consortium will have a virtual meeting. Each organization does selection and preparation of participants, book tickets.

Implementation of the main project activity: Training course for youth workers in Durres, Albania (hosted from PVN) from 1 to 7 of October 2018 with the participation of 25 youth workers with and without opportunities from Estonia, Albania, Portugal, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the last days, participants will work on the follow-up ideas, skills how to organize a youth exchange and planning youth exchange by themselves.  In addition, will develop local activities ideas based on outdoor activities, local volunteering etc.

Follow up: The ideas generated in the last day of the training with the ideas we already have at this stage will be adapted and working in the team after the training to bring them to the life. Also, dissemination workshop will be organized by partners in each country.

Participant’s profile 

The training will address the needs of youth workers, coordinators, who work for inclusion of visually impaired/blind youngsters.

Some of the main criteria for youth workers are:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in the field of youth and 1 year with visually impaired/blind youngsters;
  • Be involved in an NGO; employed or on a voluntary bases;
  • Committed to organize local capacity building activities in their country, make dissemination and contribute to the Manual for youth workers;
  • Take the responsibility to follow this project by organizing and being group leaders in the youth exchange;
  • Motivation to be involved with inclusion in long-term.

Travel reimbursement

According to the EU distance calculator the maximum travel reimbursement for Romania, for both ways will be a maximum of Euro 275.
