PRESS RELEASE

Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 1st of March, 2021

You Have The CTRL

project financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

The consortium of 4 partners is starting the international project You Have The CTRL, an Erasmus+ Youth project, financed by the European Union and developed by Asociatia Babilon Travel in partnership with Karabaglar Kaymakamligi (Turkey), Ikkaido Inclusive Martial Arts (Ireland) and Mreza za Dozivotno Ucenje (The Republic of North Macedonia).

This project will focus on young people with fewer opportunities, young people with visual impairments, young people who have experienced bullying, intolerance and prejudice, in order to fully address online safety issues, lack of digital literacy and proper use of social networks among young people. This development of best practices in social media will help reduce hate speech, online aggression and will try to combat online extremism, in terms of young people with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities, with and without internet access and social platforms.

In order to achieve its aims, the project will organize a youth exchange held in Izmir, Turkey, which will be attended by 32 young people from the four partner countries, age 16-24. Each national group consists of 8 young people, 4 visually impaired and/or with fewer opportunities and 4 without disabilities or fewer opportunities, an accompanying person for those with disabilities and a group leader).

The youth exchange will create a united, informal group to explore and discover more about media and digital literacy, to learn techniques and tools for recognizing reliable information and to identify the risks of using the Internet, to protect them both security as well as confidentiality.
