You Have The CTRL: 2nd Press Release

PRESS RELEASE
Izmir, Turkey, 10th of October, 2021

You Have The CTRL

project financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

The consortium of 4 partners is starting the main activity of the international project You Have The CTRL, an Erasmus+ Youth project, financed by the European Union and developed by Asociatia Babilon Travel in partnership with Karabaglar Kaymakamligi Izmir (Turkey), Mreza za Dozivotno Ucenje (North Macedonia) and  Ikkaido Inclusive Martial Arts (Ireland).

You have the CTRL was born after prolonged activities with young people, with and without disabilities, young people from various backgrounds, their common denominator being technology, with the advantages and disadvantages of using it.

While access to the Internet offers great benefits in terms of discovering things about the world, it also causes collateral problems in terms of cybersecurity. Digital literacy is felt to be weak.

The main activity of the project, a youth exchange in Izmir, Turkey, is starting on 10th of October and will end on 15th of October, 2021, and it aims to bring together visually impaired youngsters, those with fewer opportunities and typical, non-disabled youngsters in order to address aggression, intolerance and fake news that became abundant on social media and not just for young people, but for society as a whole, and this seems to be strongly reflected in traditional communities, especially intolerance, incitement to hatred and prejudice against people with fewer opportunities.
The main objectives of the project are to improve critical thinking skills of the participants, online communication skills, digital creativity and            collaboration between young people, using digital tools.
