Cluj-Napoca Represented at “Growing Recognition Ecosystems with Open Badges” Seminar

In November 2024, Asociația Babilon Travel proudly represented Cluj-Napoca, a City of Learning, at the international seminar “Growing Recognition Ecosystems with Open Badges,” held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The event focused on advancing the recognition and validation of non-formal learning through innovative tools like Open Badges and the Cities of Learning platform.

As partners, we collaborated with youth workers, leaders, and policymakers from across Europe to exchange best practices and develop strategies to strengthen youth work. The seminar highlighted the importance of raising awareness about non-formal learning and equipping youth workers with practical tools to validate and recognize these experiences.Participants explored the potential of digital micro-credentials like Open Badges to document skills, foster collaboration, and influence policy development. The event aligns with the EU Youth Strategy (2019–2027), contributing to the sustainability of youth work practices and empowering young individuals.

Representing Cluj-Napoca in this impactful seminar reinforced our city’s commitment to high-quality non-formal education and lifelong learning, while further strengthening our role within the Cities of Learning network.
