Martial arts and physical activity are much more than a mere means to improve body shape or practice “fighting”. It can help young people develop healthy lifestyles, but it can also teach essential life skills, help with a personal development process and build self-confidence and self-appreciation of young people.
This is especially true for young people with disabilities and fewer opportunities. Martial arts and outdoor activities can help youth in this target group to develop a wide range of social skills and improve their inclusion in the society. The Human Capital Model lists “Equity for persons with disabilities, as well as social inclusion & acceptance of people with fewer opportunities, as some of the most important outcomes of martial arts and physical activity for this target group. Preparations for our project “In their shoes” is going according to plan. Participants are preparing workshops and preparatory assignments, researching martial arts and how to best organize the trip. The host organization has booked accommodation and is preparing the logistics of the project.
Dates have been set and they are 03.05. – 11.05.2021. The activity will take place in Zagreb in the beautiful Maksimir Park outdoors. (more…)
In Their Shoes is a brand new project where Ascociatia Babilon Travel acts as partner and sending organization. The main activity is a youth exchange funded by the European Union. It is part of the Erasmus+ programme. Host organization is Para taekwondo klub Krijesnice while partners are Il Cassetto dei Sogni from Italy, Asociatia Babilon Travel from Romania and ArTeam from Bulgaria. (more…)
KEEP FIT: Learn, act inspire! is a brand new Erasmus+ project where Asociatia Babilon Travel is acting as partner and sending organization.
The main activity of the project is a study visit, that will take place in Tirana – Albania, between November 2-9, 2020, and will bring together 24 youth workers, age 18+, from Albania, Romania, Belgium, Greece, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Latvia and Italy.
Main aim of the Study Visit
The project “ Keep fit: learn, act, inspire” aims at spreading good practices; share, learn, inspire and develop skills on healthy lifestyle among youth workers as a way to prevent mental, physical, environmental problems by maintaining a healthy diet, regular mental/physical activity and reducing ecological footprint.
